Geraldine McCarthy, Commis Chef, Cadbury World
What does your role entail day to day?
Amadeus operate the Cadbury Café at Cadbury World which is built around the concept that ‘there’s a child in all of us’. My role working for Amadeus is quite diverse – day to day you will find me dealing with everything from food preparation back of house to serving dishes to customers front of house – either in the Cadbury Café or pop-up outdoor cabin.
What is your proudest achievement while working for Amadeus?
I love working for this world-renowned visitor attraction. My proudest achievement while working here has been creating the amazing white chocolate popping candy rocky road which is always a best seller on the menu!

"Success to me is happy customers."
How do you measure success in your role?
Success to me is happy customers. We have extremely high standards as a team – nothing less than perfection is good enough!
What drew you to the catering industry?
My mum worked in catering and a love of food is in the family. From the age of 13 I helped out as a pot washer working for pocket money – soon I was working in pubs and progressing my skills in catering. I have been working as a Commis Chef at Cadbury World for five years now and am learning all the time!
