The journey from apprentice to professional is paved with dedicated, hard work and a huge thirst for knowledge.
We are immensely proud of our apprenticeship programme, where we partner with University College Birmingham and Apprenticeship Recruitment Service to give aspiring chefs and hospitality leaders a taste of the industry, as well as a chance to learn from the cream of the culinary crop.
The programme has increased the number of yearly intakes by 200% since Kevin Watson became Managing Director in 2011.
This year, we had the privilege of witnessing a group of our young talents develop their skills and abilities, embarking on the next steps in their career journey, with certifcates given for:
- Commis Chef level 2
- Chef De Partie level 3
- HR consultant level 5
- Team leader level 3
We are so proud of our apprentices and their achievements, so we took the opportunity to celebrate them all with Amadeus’ senior team. Apprentices from across the business came together, representing our diverse departments and fields of study.
The apprenticeships listened to the story of Amadeus’ Managing Director Kevin Watson and asked him questions about his career to date, before receiving their certificates of achievement.
An apprenticeship is as much about the mentors as it is about the students. We took a moment to recognize and applaud the mentors who, with their expertise and patience, molded the raw talent into the professionals we celebrated. Their dedication to sharing their knowledge and skills ensures the continued success and innovation of our business.
While the event was a celebration of what our apprentices have achieved, it also marked the beginning of the next steps in their careers. With their newfound skills and knowledge, they are equipped to contribute to our business and industry in meaningful ways. We're excited to see where their paths lead and how they'll shape the future of Amadeus.
